International Women’s Day 2007
My friend, Olga, called to wish me a Happy Women’s International Day. I said a barely peppy “oh, thank you.”
Ah, this is not a big one here in the states but in Moscow, Russia, where Olga is from, this is a national day off! She said Russia satellite tv was airing very festive shows and men brought presents and did nice things for their women. It sounds like a cross between Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day, both of which are not heavily celebrated in old country.
I had no idea this day was anything more than a nod and a calendar entry.
So to all you international Womens, Happy Day to You!

2/14/07—We may not be very lighthearted on this Valentine’s Day, with the Moon in cautious Capricorn. Our discomfort is emphasized by irritating quincunxes from restrictive Saturn to both impulsive Mars and loving Venus. It feels as if our dreams are just one step beyond our reach. It may be thoroughly annoying that we must meet our obligations before we can experience pleasure. Nevertheless, enjoyment must be postponed until our work is done.

The Valentine

Valentine’s Day angst is in full swing and our sympathies to all of you who not only have to answer the question of “Do you Love ME?” but have to supply the adequate tribute to answer “HOW MUCH?”
We love holidays! But fun, happy, voluntary ones. That being said, I’m going to hang out at Walgreen’s and watch the sweating decisions being made. It’s a great time passer until they start marking down to half-price on Feb 15th!
Happy Valentine’s Day.

A small offering of the January holiday wind down. February is going to pick up speed as the days grow longer. I wouldn’t mind if it rained all month. Sun in the desert isn’t much of a novelty.
