Happy Solstice Everyone. Welcome to Summer!

A small offering of the January holiday wind down. February is going to pick up speed as the days grow longer. I wouldn’t mind if it rained all month. Sun in the desert isn’t much of a novelty.

A disturbance in the feline force field and all Command Cats are set into motion.

Le Feline et Parfume
The Holiday Season was officially over Sunday. The day after Epiphany. A few houses around here kept the lights up until then. Sad to have to wait another year for it.
I got an after Holiday Treat of Jo Malone cologne. Very odd mixtures of scents that last for quite a while. Strong stuff, this. I got the Amber and Lavender and a Bulgarian Rose. They were out of the pomegranate. I will be going back.
Dirk might have liked the smell but he really enjoyed the bag.
So far, so good in the new year.

Blowout Weekend 2006-The Party
Pope Legba’s workmate threw a helluva bash. Food and desserts and alcohol everywhere. Three christmas trees and decorations spilling over into backyard, bathrooms, kitchen, everywhere. Holiday Hullabaloo!
Shareen, the hostess, had made all the desserts herself. I wanted to try all of them but goddamn, even me, sugar fiend that I am, know my limits.

I had gotten hold of the tv remote and then promptly hid it after tuning in “Deliverance.” The perfect party movie. In fact, looping Ned Beatty’s rape scene could enhance any get-together. Children came in and wanted to watch Disney Channel before I could make my getaway. Foul Beasts.
The house sits on an acre of land in an older part of Phoenix. 1940s Phoenix. And it looks as pristine as the day it first let the new owners move in. John, our host, said most of the neighbors were original owners, they were the youngest there.
The huge backyard had an actual grove of citrus trees. I was thinking this could be used for the folks who don’t want to drive to Sedona for a Druid experience. Hell, throw on some robes under a full moon, shake some crystals at them. 500 bucks a head. I’l have to write up my business proposal. Easy money.
A well humored crowd for the most part and I would gladly go to another shindig.

The Beginning of the End of 2006. Presidential Funeral, Saddam hanging, Rose Parade– zounds, events abound, eh?
